About Us

Chartered Feb 2, 1966 at original location 34 1st Ave NW. Our current membership is at a total of 380 members.

The Carmel VFW Post #10003 officially became the Stanley E. Banks Sr. VFW Post #10003 in early 2012. The Post attends all District and State meetings and has sent several delegates to the National Convention in past years. We support all the official VFW programs set forth by National such as the Patriot's Pen essay contest and the Voice of Democracy speech contest. We have given thousands of dollars in scholarship prizes to winners every year and will continue to participate through our great volunteers.

The Post sponsors Boy Scout Troop 132 and Cub Scout Pack 132. We donate to the FOP, CPD and CFD events throughout the year and especially over the Holidays. We support many charity and non-profits such as the VFW Children's Home in Eaton Rapids and the Veteran's home in Lafayette. Many of our members are also members of the American Legion, VVA, Amvets, DAV, VVMF and Hamilton County Veterans. We are active participants in many civic programs such as providing the marching color guard for the annual 4th of July parade and holding ceremonies each Memorial day at 5 locations honoring Veterans. We had volunteers as fund raisers, judges and committee members for the Carmel Clay Veterans Memorial Plaza where the beautiful statue honoring Veterans stands.

We try to have fun activities scheduled throughout the year, but our real strength comes through the efforts of our great volunteers and the contributions we make to the community. Our canteen related events include cook-outs, a Christmas Party for the kids with Santa, Kareoke, board game tournaments, and prize drawings.

Our Ladies Auxiliary and Men's Auxiliary are very active in their support of the Post. Please consider joining our great Post in any of the 3 groups that you might qualify for. Contact the Post through this website, by phone, email or in person at the Post on Old Meridian in Carmel. Watch the website for more information on activities and news.
